Originating from Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales, UK, Jane Foster is a freelance travel writer and photographer specialising in Croatia, Montenegro and Greece. She completed a BA degree in Architecture at Oxford Polytechnic (now Oxford Brookes University), then did a year of practical experience with an architecture studio in Rome, before being offered work with Colors magazine in Treviso. She has since written for various guidebooks, newspapers, magazines and websites, and occassionally contributes ideas to Essentialist travel designers. She speaks English, Italian, Croatian and Greek, and lives in Split on the Dalmatian Coast. In 2024 she completed work on a new Bradt Croatia: Dalmatian Coast guidebook.
